PoetryRecoveryIt's unearthly dark this morning
my bodyclock is not set to go off for another 60 minutes
I rely on primitive instincts and nightvision.
We evolved to invent the hour.
Now, we attempt to control time itself
and in our neurowired fear of darkness
fear of change
fear of loss
we suffer these mornings
we suffer the fallacy of control
around conference tables
in our machine made suits.
We mitigate our fears
We don't know we are animals.
We created the word
but don't know what it means.
