After the rain
	the first sun
   shines the land
	heaven's mirror
   I crept the bank
	down
	the shore caked with mud
   the high reeds swept
	to river's bottom
   naked - the high grasses
	gone
	   defenseless
	bracing tension
		clinging feet
	fail.

A spasm
	slick
	   slides
	      skided wet
	into the mud
   cold cracking scream
	drowned.

Forgive my lungs
	for breathing only
		air
   forgive -
	the depth;
      heaven's mirror
	   sinks
	my heart
	      open -

within the water
	swells;
      I expel
         only
             light.
